"happy thanksgiving" or "our new 55 inch tv"

Hey Journal!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I can't believe it's Thanksgiving time already. Dan and I got up this morning a little after 9:00 and we watched the parade on TV! The beginning was sooooo boring because they had too many of those broadway performances. I just wanted to see the balloons!

We watched a little of the parade and then Dan went to the gym. I got showered up and dressed, and then when Dan got back we departed.

On the way, we stopped at 7-11 to get a newspaper so we could check out all the Black Friday ads! They were all out of the paper, so we stopped at the card store in the Nesconset Plaza. Luckily, they still had plenty in stock!

We were the first to arrive and we spent a little time before everyone got there looking at the circulars. There wasn't anything that exciting this year.... as I've said in previous years, it just isn't what it used to be. I only learned that Black Friday existed in 2003 and that year, and for a few years after, there were some really amazing deals. Now it's nothing too amazing, plus with all the stores opening up on Thanksgiving day, it takes all the excitement of waiting in line early the next morning away.

Thanksgiving was good... It was a little non-traditional because Dan (and Jackie and Evelyn) weren't there, and neither was Christen! Dan and I were basically the only cousins of that age group there! The triplets and Alexis were also in attendance.

We had a fun time, hung out, and of course had our turkey dinner! The turkey was very good, and my mom made Stove Top stuffing for us! I was a little sad that there were no mashed potatoes! If I had known, Dan and I would have made them!

Later on, after dinner, Dan went upstairs with Ryan and Eric who taught him the "Gas Pedal" dance, which they perfected and then I recorded. It was pretty wild.

At 8:30, Dan and I departed and, although I do not actually condon shopping on Thanksgiving day, we went to Best Buy because they had a TV that we've wanted to get. It wasn't a doorbuster, where you had to be there right when they opened... it was an all-weekend sale, but we were just a little nervous that it would be sold out if we waited too long!

We got there and luckily there were plenty! We got the TV and checked out!

It's an LG 55" and was on sale for $479. It was a pretty good discount and we've been considering a bigger TV for that room for a while. We had shopped around at a bunch of stores over the last few months and this was the best!

On the way home we stopped back to get our circulars and some other stuff we had left.

When we got home we were just going to drop off the TV and then see what was going on at Target, but once we had brought the box inside, we couldn't help but set up the TV. It looks really nice, but it's kinda bigger than I had expected. It looks so much bigger than it did in the store! All the 55" TVs we looked at looked so small in the store and this one is NOT small at all!

It seems like a good size for the room, and just fits on our table... but I'm worried that it's so big that it's kinda hard to see from the couch! I don't even know!

When we were done, we went to Target and checked out everything. We didn't want anything from there, but we wanted to see how it was. It was pretty normal.. not extra crowded or any frenzies. That's another thing that they ruined by opening on Thanksgiving day. All the excitement is gone. :(

Anyway, now we're home and just getting ready for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
