"downtown disney" or "epcot, illuminations, and spaceship earth"

Hey Journal!

Well, today was our last full day at Walt Disney World and surprisingly we didn't do all that much in the parks! We had pretty much gotten to do and see everything already and we took it easy today!

We slept a little later today and got up around 9:30. We had breakfast at The Mara and, of course, we had the Bounty Platter!

After we ate, we took the bus to Downtown Disney. We didn't really have any reason in particular to go there but we figured we would check out the shops there for a little while. We walked through and found a REALLY cool Orange Bird figurine thing in a store called the "Marketplace Co Op!" The store had a lot of amazing things but this was something we figured we could actually use and display at home.

We walked all the way to the other side of Pleasure Island (which basically is completely dismantled now) only to find out that there are no busses on that side anymore, so we walked all the way back. We had to wait a long time for a bus, but we finally got on and then headed back to the hotel.

When we got to the room we started to do a little packing and then I went down to the hot tub. I was in there for about 30 minutes and then Dan and I went to the Sunset Savanna to check out the animals. There were a lot of animals out and Dan talked to this guy from South Africa who showed him all about Giraffe vertebrate.

At about 3:00, we headed over to the Contemporary. We had to take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then we walked over to the hotel. We checked out their Christmas decor, which actually isn't all that much. Then we met Frank in the lobby and we took the boat over to the Fort Wilderness Campground for dinner!

While we were on the bus, a kid threw a Disney bag with something he had purchased into the lagoon! Crazy! I have no idea why he threw it, but I saw him do it! The boat driver turned the boat around, though, and was able to fish it out with a big stick! It was wild.

Our dinner reservations were for 6:05 and we arrived about 20 minutes early. We hung out outside while we waited, but it was really cold out!

They called us in at about 6:00. We had a really nice dinner and we treated Frank to thank him for all that he's done for us while we've been here! I had lots of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and other all-you-care-to-enjoy food!

For dessert I had ice cream and tea. I've had the English Breakfast Tea so many times over this trip!

After that, we took the boat back to the Contemporary, Frank picked up some stuff he needed to take home, and then we took the Monorail to the TTC. We saw Seth there, who was working on the monorail at the COntemporary tonight, and he rode with us to the TTC.

Frank drove us over to Epcot and we rode Spaceship Earth and then we had FastPasses for Illuminations! It was a great spot to watch from and there weren't many people in there tonight so it was perfect. We had a great view and the show did not disappoint! It never does!

The holiday finale was incredible and I'm glad we got to see it one last time!

Epcot had Extra Magic Hours tonight so, on our way out of the park, we took one last ride on Spaceship Earth! It's such a classic, it's my absolute favorite. From the invention of papyrus to the smell of bacon at the burning of Alexandria, it is everything!

Here's to the next 30,000 years on Spaceship Earth. While no one knows for sure what we'll see or do, I do know it will be quite an adventure. An adventure we'll take, and make, together!

We headed back to the car and Frank drive us to AKL. He had some time to kill before picking up Seth from work so we hung around the hotel and checked out the animals and stuff. We managed to get up to the Kilimanjaro Club because the elevator randomly took us there and so we checked that out, too! I'm glad we got to see what it was like up there.

Now Dan and I are just getting ready for bed and getting all packed up. We have to get our luggage checked in tomorrow morning down at the front of the hotel, and then before we know it, by this time tomorrow night, we'll be home! I'm not looking forward to the cold! (Not that it's been much better here!)

Anyway, time to get to sleep!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
