"farewell, mickey!"

Hey Journal!

Well, here we are, home from our fantastic Disney vacation! It was such a fun time and I can't believe it's over already!

This morning Dan and I got up around 9:30. For breakfast, Dan got another Bounty Platter.... he just can't get enough!! I had some cereal left in the room to finish up, so I had that and also a Kid's breakfast meal. I got scrambled eggs, bacon, orange juice, and a chocolate chip cookie. I'm telling you, kid's meals are the way to go!

We decided not to go to any parks today since we had done all that we could possibly have wanted to do, and then some, already! Instead, we wanted to have a fun day of riding the monorail! YES!

First, we had to check out of our room. We cleaned up, got all of our stuff together, and then headed down to the lobby. We checked our bags in for our flight and then we left my backpack with the luggage services at the hotel.

We took a bus to Magic Kingdom and then we rode to the Transportation and Ticket Center where we switched Monorails and rode to Epcot! We had taken the monorail from Epcot to Magic Kingdom on the first day of our trip, but we hadn't gone the other way, and that's always exciting because you get to go through the park!

When we got there, we turned around and headed back! :)

We switched again to the resort monorail and stopped at the Polynesian. We had lunch at their little quick service restaurant, Captain Cook's!

I got chicken and waffles! It was pretty good.

Then we took a walk over to the Grand Floridian, and finally, took the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom! We took our bus back to the hotel, collected my backpack, and then hung out in the lounge by the Sunset Savannah while we waited for our Magical Express to take us back to the airport!

At 4:05, the bus came and our time in Disney was officially over. We got to the airport plenty of time in advance. Our flight originally said that it had been delayed by 15 minutes from 7:15 to 7:30, but then as we were waiting for it, it changed back to being on time!

On the Magical Express, the driver played Christmas music and the two large, frumpy women next to us couldn't help but sing along! THE WHOLE TIME! THE ENTIRE RIDE! The girl sitting in front of them was not enjoying it. We kept making eye contact with her and she was at the end of her rope! Their voices were so bad! It was hysterical. Dan and I couldn't stop laughing. How could they not have realized how weeeeird they were!

When we got to the airport, we went through security and then hung out in the comfortable seats and charged our phones. We also watched an episode and a half of The Carbonaro Effect! We have so many shows to catch up on, we figured we would get a little bit of a head start! The only problem was that the TruTV app was completely terrible. The pause/play button didn't even work, so once you started a show, you had to close the app to stop it, and when you re-opened the app, you couldn't start the video from where you left off. Absurd!

Anyway, we were in the A boarding group this time! I checked in RIGHT AWAY last night.... my phone alarm went off while we were eating dinner at Trail's End! We got A58 or so. We got to board BEFORE the companion boarding, which is so great. The flight attendant told us that there were about 10 empty seats on the plane so we made sure to make one of them near us. We sat with the middle seat open to deter people, and it worked. :)

The flight was good, and it went by fast. Southwest now has TV on their flights, but you watch it on your own phone or iPad. It's good, but there aren't enough channels. No ABC.

The last 20 minutes of the flight this absolutely beastly child was screaming his head off in the back of the plane. I never saw him, but from his voice, and the fact that he was speaking words (even though I couldn't make out what he was saying,) he had to be way too old for that kind of behavior!

We landed at about 9:50 and waited at the baggage carousel for a while. Our bags emerged, and then I called my mom to pick us up! She had been waiting in the cell phone lot.

I really have to say, the Magical Express, and the airport luggage check in AT the hotel is the most amazing thing ever. That we checked out bags in the morning and then didn't see them until we landed at home is just so perfect.

One the way home, we detoured to pick up some pizza. We ordered two pizzas from Dominos...one cheese and one BEEF (or BEFF.) We got home, ate our pizza, and then watched Shark Tank. We have so many shows to watch, we had to get started right away.

While we watched TV, we did our first load of laundry... some clothes we need tomorrow and stuff.

Now it's time to get to sleep.... It's been a long day and we have to get up early tomorrow for Breakfast and Lunch with Santa at the golf course! It would have been nice to sleep late tomorrow, but that's not gonna happen!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
