December 10, 2014 - 10:55 p.m.
"hollywood studios" or "epcot, garden grill"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 8:00 and had some cereal in the room. Then we headed down to get the bus to Hollywood Studios!

We got there just a few minutes before our FastPass to Midway Mania, so we hung out and stood in the sun because it was freezing cold this morning! At 9:25 we entered the FastPass line and I was soooo close to beating Dan but lost by only a couple hundred points!

When we got out, we had some time before our FastPasses to Tower of Terror, but there was no wait on the Standby line, so we did that and rode it once! Next, we headed over to meet Phineas and Ferb! We got a cool picture with them, and then we looked for Santa Goofy, but it turns out he's there every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Weird!

Next we went to the Animation Courtyard area but didn't wind up doing the drawing thing. We were going to try to get a picture with Beymax but he had a huge line and we didn't think it was worth waiting for. Instead, we headed over to use our Tower of Terror FastPass.

We touched in at the first FastPass area, but then we found out that half the ride was broken and the FastPass line was a wait of over 40 minutes! We decided to skip it since we had already done it earlier, but we stopped at the FastPass kiosk to get it sorted out. They couldn't reschedule since we had tapped in already, but they gave us an "Attraction Collection" pass, which let us in to almost any other ride (excluding Midway Mania.)

We were the first to go over and have that problem, but as soon as we did, there were a bunch of people with the same thing bombarding them!

We used that pass on Rock N Roller Coaster since I couldn't get a FastPass in advance for that AND Midway. That's such a great roller coaster... the music really makes it, too!

Dan was getting a little hungry so we stopped for a snack at Rosie's All American Cafe. Dan got a burger and I got a kid's meal. I only got it because it was a small amount of food and was relatively cheap, but compared to an adult meal you really get more of your money's worth! I got four chicken nuggets, fries, apple juice, and a cookie for 5.99. It's expensive compared to home but cheap by Disney standards! I need to get more kids meals!

We returned to the Animation Academy and we waited about 10 minutes for the 12:00 class. As soon as we got in Dan started vying for them to draw Scrooge McDuck, and as luck would have it, they finally agreed! The girl who did the drawing class was a little strange... she kept saying the same things over and over and talked too much.

Next we had a FastPass for Star Tours! On the thing...Dan was chosen as the "Rebel Spy" and his picture came up on the screen! It was amazing!

After Star Tours, we went to Muppet Vision 3D! I always think about skipping that one, but then once I do it, I remember just how amazing it is! It really is great! "A salute to all nations, but mostly America!" And Statler and Waldorf are hysterical, AND Sweetums!!! Love it.

Our last ride at Hollywood Studios was The Great Movie Ride. It was cheezy as always.

We left the park and then took the Friendship to the Yacht & Beach Club to check out their Christmas Decorations. We walked through and then made our way to the International Gateway and into Epcot!

I was excited for the American Adventure and we made it just in time to catch the Voices of Liberty before the 3:00 showing. I was soooo tired in the morning and I fell asleep towards the end of the show! Woops!

Next we stopped at the Norway Pavillion to continue mourning Maelstrom! Such sadness. Then we rode the Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico!

We had some time to kill before our dinner reservations so we used one of our special FastPasses to go on Test Track.

At 5:00 we had our dinner reservation at the Garden Grill in The Land in Epcot. Neight of us had ever eaten there before, and it looked pretty nice. It has a rotating dining room that overlooks the Living With the Land ride. Basically, it's "All-you-care-to-enjoy" turkey, beef, tilapia, and mashed potatoes. They also had orange soda! Mmmm.

I was excited for this restaurant and I didn't even realize it was a character dining restaurant! While we were eating, we got visits from Chip, Mickey, and Pluto! While I was in the bathroom, Dan got a visit from Dale! I can't believe I missed him! grrr! They all came back a second time, too.. and I got cool pictures with them... and some selfies! EXCEPT DALE... He never came back! Darn it! Why did I have to get up to pee!?

Dinner was good, I had a cupcake for dessert, and then when we finished, we went over to Journey Into Imagination! Excellent! We almost had the entire ride to ourselves but there was one guy in one other car. Weird.

After that we went to Spaceship Earth and we got stuck for about 5 minutes or so JUST before the papyrus guy! I loved it, though... no place I'd rather get stuck!

We wanted to go see the Candlelight Processional so we started to make our way back around the World Showcase. We stopped for a little while in Norway to hear Julenissen and then we got on line for the processional. Tonight's narrator was Edward James Olmos, who you may recall was in Stand and Deliver AND played Selena's father in Selena!

We got good seats, and he has such a good voice for this! He made a couple of mistakes.... he started reading ahead when the choir was supposed to sing at one point, and then he forgot the conductor's name when he acknowledged him at the end. Despite that, I think he did a great job and I'm so glad we got to see him! That's the THIRD narrator we've seen since we got here!

After the show (and during it) it was FREEZING COLD. I have never been so cold in Florida in my life. It also helps illustrate just how cold it was when I tell you that I had THREE SHIRTS ON and an undershirt. An Undershirt, my grey and blue long sleeved shirt, my grey sweater, and my grey striped hoodie. Seriously? This is DISNEY WORLD!! I can't.

We got a great spot for IllumiNations but I was shivering. We made it through until 9:30 and the show was great as always. The holiday finale was incredible tonight... the light lit up so bright it was unreal!!

When it was over we hustled to the bus, made it on, but had to stand! We got back to the hotel and bought some milk for tomorrow's breakfast! I took a shower, and now we're just gonna get to sleep!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
