"we've arrived in disney world" or "epcot & magic kingdom"

Hey Journal!

Greetings from Walt Disney World!!! I can't believe we're actually here! Today was such a long and exhausting day and it's super super late, so I don't even know how I'm going to remember everything, but I'll sure try.

At 4:30am, my mom picked us up and we loaded up the car and headed to the airport. We got checked in and unfortunately I dropped the ball on the advanced check-in yesterday, so we had C35 and C36! Ugh!

We saw one of the old board ladies from our co-op at the airport, she was behind us on the security line. Dan also saw someone he knew from High School at the airport, who wound up being on our flight. Then, as we were boarding, we spotted JC's Gil getting on our plane!

The flight left at 6:00 and it was an excellent flight. It was smooth, fast, and the plane was nice and new! Southwest has free TV over WiFi now.... it's pretty nice. Because the plane was full and we got on so late, Dan and I didn't get to sit next to eachother. It was okay though, I got an aisle seat and the people I sat next to were really nice, though I didn't really speak to them.

We landed a little early in Orlando and then took the Magical Express to our hotel. We checked in, and we were in luck... they had a room available! That's pretty great because usually we have to wait a while for them to assign us a room, and don't get in until after we get back from the parks!

Our room is nice, it's funny though... we walked in and I was surprised to see that it had a queen bed and also bunk beds! It's crazy.... I'm actually excited... I've never slept in a bunk bed before so I told Dan I'm sleeping in the top bunk tonight!! Sorry!!

Anyway, we got situated in our room and then we headed off for Epcot! I altered some of our FastPasses since we arrived earlier than we had expected, and it's really easy to do on the app. I love it.

Once we got to Epco, our first stop was Spaceship Earth! I mean, of course. It was great to smell the bacon and be reunited with the man making papyrus! It's my favorite ride!

After that, we stopped at Club Cool to get a quick beverage and then went to Ellen's Energy Adventure.

We finished that and then went to Journey Into Imagination followed by The Land to get lunch at Sunshine Seasons. I got the chicken and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were a little weird, they were cheesy and that's new.

After we ate, we headed to the World Showcase and rode the Gran Fiesta Tour, then stopped in Norway to mourn the loss of Maelstrom. So sad. We watched some Lion Dancing in China and then met up with one of Dan's friends from work in Italy. We hung out with them for about 15 minutes or so, and then they left and we went to wait for La Befana at 3:20.

La Befana was good, but she wasn't THE La Befana. I need the original #labefana. I hope we can catch it again another day and hopefully that same woman still does it!

Next, we made a change in our plans. We pushed back one of our FastPasses and came back to the hotel. We wanted to go in the pool and relax a little before a big night. We found out that Magic Kingdon was open until 3, so we wanted to try to get a lot of rides in!

We went in the hot tub and then we watched some animals out on the savannah! It was pretty cool.

Around 6:30, we headed back to Epcot and used our fastpass to The Seas with Nemo and Friends, which we didn't really need because there was no wait anyway!

Then we headed back to the America Gardens Theater to see the Candlelight Processional! It started at 8:15 and we were able to get a great spot along the back to watch it. Tonight, it was narrated by Whoopi Goldberg!

It was over at 9:05 and we hurried around to the other side of the showcase to get to our Illuminations fastpass. I was a little confused beforehand as to what this actually was. It's a reserved area, and it isn't crowded so you're sure to get prime viewing. I liked it.

It's my favorite fireworks show... and I loved every minute of it. They special holiday finale, Peace on Earth was great, and it ended with an INSANE amount of fireworks. It was incredible. We have to catch that at least another time before we leave!

As soon as the fireworks ended we hurried to the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. The line was long but it moved fast. We were at MK so quickly, and then when we got in we took the secret passage behind Main Street to Future World. Frank had loaded our Magic Band with an extra FastPass to Space Mountain, so we did that!

Next we got dinner at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. I had ANOTHER 1/2 chicken. That's two in one day... making 1 whole chicken.

We watched the Electrical Parade from Frontierland and then we rode the Magic Carpets. Next up, the Jungle Cruise (holiday edition!) It was pretty good. Then we rode Pirates, followed by It's a Small World, and Journey of the Little Mermaid!

It was a PACKED day! We had wanted to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train but we were just soooo exhausted and the line was still 40 minutes. The park was really clearing out, especially since the Extra Magic Hours began at 1am and went till 3, but we just couldn't do it anymore. We've been up for 22 hours now, and I just need to get to sleep!

Tomorrow, the plan is to go back to Epcot! Frank is going to meet us there.

Anyway, we are obviously back at the hotel now and it's time for SLEEP! TOP BUNK, HERE I COME!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
