"merry christmas 2014"

Hey Journal!

Merry Christmas!! I really can't believe that Christmas has come and gone already! Another year. It's just insane! The sad part is that we have so many more months of winter to get through before it's nice and summery again, with nothing else to look forward to!

Anyway, it was really nice to sleep late this morning! As I have probably mentioned a bunch of times, we haven't gotten to sleep late in over three weeks. We had no early plans today so it was our first opportunity.

We got up around 10:30am and I was feeling refreshed! We came downstairs and the first thing we did was turn on the lights on the tree and Dan opened his stocking presents. He emptied all the goodies out and we sat on the couch and tried to really take in the fact that it was Christmas Morning!

Next, we watched the Disney Christmas Parade special. It was really weird because, like everything Disney, it's been taken over by Frozen. Ugh. Not related to the Frozen theme, it was terrible. The hosting was horrible, the musical guests were sub-par... it was a real disappointment!

Anyway, after that we watched Monday's Major Crimes and then caught up on The Carbonaro Effect!

When we were done with our TV shows, we had to get ready to go to Dan's parents' house. Dan ran to CVS to get a gift certificate for his Aunt and to get tape, because we had none to wrap the remaining presents!

I showered up and when he got back I wrapped up his parents' gifts.

We left here around 2:00. We opened presents for about 15 minutes and then some of the other guests, who were supposed to arrive around 3 showed up a half hour early. We stopped opening and said hello.

Dan and I pretty much just hung around all day and we were playing some games on the TV. Dinner was really good.. traditional Thanksgiving fare... Turkey, mashed potatoes, corn! I loved it. We also had those little Pillsbury crescent rolls and they were amazing too. I think I had three!!

Dan's brother was eagerly awaiting the departure of the other guests so we could get back to our gift exchanging, and we were anxious, too, because there really wasn't anything for us to talk to them about.

When they departed, we picked up right where we had left off and finished giving and receiving gifts!

Dan and I left around 8:20 and we headed over to Jackie's apartment in Northport for the Dr. Who Christmas Special. We had some it last year, too, and we were excited for it. We actually aren't caught up with this season of Dr. Who, but we figured it would be okay because the Christmas Special is often not TOO dependant on the rest of what's going on.

We were the first to arrive, in fact, I think when we got there Jackie was just getting home herself. We hung out, and then people started arriving a little after 9. Danea was there, Shawn and Caitlin, Dan and Kerry, Karen, etc.

We started the show a little late so we could fast forward the commercials. There was a little extraneous talking going on which made it a little difficult to follow... but I enjoyed nonetheless.

As soon as the episode was over, at 11:20, everyone pretty much vacated.

We just home and I'm about to jump in the shower and then we're off to bed! We have breakfast tomorrow at 10:30 with Julio!

Until tomorrow...

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! :)
