"marching with target"

Hey Journal!

This morning when I got up the first thing I did was look at the weather to see if we could go to the parade. It looked a lot better than it had last night so I texted Julio to see what he was planning to do. He said it was raining in the city and he didn't want to march.

Dan and I had mixed feeling about going in and we watched a little TV until about 11:00 when we decided that we were just gonna go for it! The weather was looking better and even though it was drizzling a little, we were pretty sure it was going to get much better!

We got ready, I sunscreened up, and then we hit the road. We made a quick pitstop at Wendy's since I hadn't eaten breakfast yet and then we headed for the city.

I found two potential parking garages. One was closer to the parade route and was $14 and the other was a little bit of a father walk (but not much) for only $10. We actually were headed for the $14 one, but the road was closed and we had no way to get there. It's a good thing it worked out like that because the $10 one was perfect.

Even though Julio wasn't going to march we decided to go march with Google! We got there and got our T-Shirts but we were disappointed with their shirts and their float! It was kinda lame so we defected!

We made our way over to the Target group and aside from the two people organizing, we were the only other ones there. We asked what time we would start marching and they said 2:30. It was about 1:30, so we had plenty of time to get food beforehand. We got our T-Shirts which were really cool! Half target logo, half rainbow!

We decided to take a little walk around and see the parade. It had started at 12:00 but it takes FOREVER for all the groups to get going! We walked along the route for a bit and then decided that it was almost 2:30 anyway, so we would go back and actually march with Target.

Unfortunately, they still haven't refined their starting times! We were ready at 2:30 and they didn't start marching till about 5:00!! Ridiculous! We kept debating if we should wait or if we should just walk on our own and EVENTUALLY, we decided to go it on our own.

We walked down to Madison Square Park and then just a little further before we turned back. We got to see some of the floats and check out the parade for a while, so that we nice. We made it back to the car a little before 6:00 and then headed home.

On the way home, we stopped at Chipotle to get something to eat! It really hit the spot. I was kinda craving it since we had planned to go there yesterday but didn't.

So, although we didn't really get to march in the parade, I still had a really fun day. It was great to go to the city, see what was going on for the parade and also to get our really cool Target shirts!

We got back home and then decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. I wanted to hit my calorie goal for the day since I was sooooo close! We did two miles and I hit all of my goals on the Watch! Big day.

I took a shower and then did some laundry and we watched an episode of OITNB! Now it's time for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
