"beatles" or "free slurpees" or "fun in the sun"

Hey Journal!

So, you know how my morning started out but after Alec and Doug headed home we didn't know what our plan would be for the rest of the day.

We wanted to get something to eat but everyone had already enjoyed their breakfasts and nobody was interested in coming to get anything to eat with us! Instead, we went to Blvd Bagels. On the way, we stopped at 7-11 to take advantage of Free Slurpee Day! The one we went to had a very poor selection of flavors and I chose to try the Sour Patch Watermelon. It was rancid tasting and I was very displeased with it.

Anyway, it was really warm out so we got our breakfast and we ate over by the library and TRIED to park in the shade, although all the really shady spots were already taken.

We invited Kristen over to go swimming in the pool and we planned for her to come over at 1:30.

Next we went to take a walk around the mall. The last time we were there was before we went to London. We just took a quick walk around and then headed over to Price Club. We needed to get some food for today. We had the chicken skewers already but we picked up some turkey burgers, too. While we were there we also got milk and a few other necessities. (Even though we tried to keep it a small trip!)

When we got home we unloaded all of our stull and then put on our bathing suits and sunscreen!

As soon as Kristen arrived we made our way to the backyard and jumped in the pool! The water was nice and warm and the sun was really hot, too! It felt really nice when I jumped in. After a little while, it felt a little cool because there was a little breeze. I was kinda surprised that such a little breeze could make it feel cool! We were in the pool for a while and then we got hungry for lunch.

Dan turned on the grill and started cooking our delightful BBQ. When we had people over for the 3rd of July, we were afraid that our propane tank was almost empty so we got a new one and filled it up so that we could swap it out. We've used the grill a bunch of times since then and it's still going strong! I wonder WHEN it's going to be empty. I don't know how you can do grilling with only one tank, though, because you would always be filling it up when it wasn't completely empty to make sure that you didn't run out. What a racket!

We enjoyed the Turkey burgers very much. I think I've only had a turkey burger once before and I was excited to try them again.

Sitting at the picnic table we all got SO HOT! When we were done eating we knew we HAD to go back into the pool...and so we did!

When we got out we felt it was right to go to 7-11 to get another free Slurpee! We decided to walk there and boy was it hot out! The sun was beating down. I had covered myself in sunscreen earlier but I was slightly worried that it had worn off by this time. Luckily, it didn't let me down.

We walked all the way there which wasn't really that far at all. This time I got a Lemonade Slurpee and enjoyed it much more than the first one. I really wish they had had the Mountain Dew Solar Flare. That has quickly become my fav Slurpee flavor, although I still long for the LIME. The one summer I found that I was really happy!

On the way back we decided to stop by the Beatles event at the golf course tonight. We had a little time beforehand so when we returned home, we went to the park to fly the drone for a bit! We gave it a few test flights and then we headed back and Kristen went home to get changed.

At 7:30 we picked her up and off we went to the golf course. The show started at 8:00 and we were RIGHT on time! In the beginning it was a little awkward because people didn't know what they were supposed to be doing. Eventually, it got more comfortable. They got up and danced and, that was cool, except that every time a song ended everyone darted for their seats and it took another couple songs to coax them back on stage!

From afar, they really looked the part and I'm sure with a few drinks they were an even closer match. Their singing was great, too. We had a good time. We even went up to the locker room to check out their costumes before the costume change!

We hung out in the back and just enjoyed the show. As soon as it was over, we hit the road.

We dropped Kristen off around 11:00 and now we're just getting ready for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
