"lazy sunday" or "voila meeting"

Hey Journal!

This morning we woke up in the city at 9:45 and we hurried to get ready and get out for the day. We got the car from the parking garage and then headed home. There wasn't any traffic in the city which was really nice. We did hit a little traffic on the expressway, but it wasn't terrible.

As soon as we got to Nassau we found a McDonald's for breakfast. I got the hotcakes and a hash brown. It's so weird how McDonald's gets away with calling pancakes "hot cakes" and people just do it. So weird.

We got home around 11:45 and I showered up and we hung out at home for a little bit. Next, we went to Leslie's to see about using our coupon. If you remember, yesterday we went to the other location and the skeevy guy told us that the coupon wasn't good anymore and that the sale had been cancelled. We didn't believe that because the sale was still advertised on their website. It made NO sense. The guy is a jerk so we didn't bother to question him but we planned to go today and see what happened. Sure enough, they had NO problem at all with using our coupon. They typed the coupon code into the computer and it worked. What an asshole that guy is. The problem is that I like that store much better but I won't go there if he's there. He is a pathological liar and you can tell he's a little off.

After that we went to Target to buy a new shower curtain liner. The one we had was almost a year old and it held up well but was just starting to get a little discolored at the bottom. Time for a replacement!

Next we went to Toys R Us to get Cameron's birthday present. We had ordered it online so we just had to go pick it up. It was such a weird process. When you order things online at Target for pickup it's so easy to go in, go to Customer Service, and get your stuff. Here, we went to Customer service, they directed us to the baby registry area. We waited for someone there but it turns out we just had to use the kiosk to look up our order. We did THAT and then had to wait for someone from the back to bring out the item. Very odd. It wasn't that it was HARD but just that it was too complicated and not intuitive enough.

We got gas in my car next... it's really crazy that all the gas stations in Lake Grove/Stony Brook are like 10 cents cheaper per gallon than by us. Usually they have some lame excuse about distance from a refinery... but all these stations are FARTHER OUT. How could that be? I think it's a scam to get more money out of us.

Anyway, next we went to see Deb Voila! Our original appointment was for 4:00 but she called to see if we could do 2:30 or 3 instead. We tried to get there by 2:30 but with all we had to do we didn't make it until a few minutes before 3. We also stopped for a Slurpee on the way because I was soooo thirsty!

She was great, as always. Her office is located in a chiropractor's office so it's a little odd sitting there discussing weddings with a giant spine on display! lol Her office is located just across the road from where Linda's mom works!

Before we went in, I had no idea how the ceremony was going to work and I was a little nervous about it and wanted it to be as quick as possible but she really had everything all laid out and asked us lots of questions about ourselves and what we wanted. It made me feel really good about the ceremony and I think it's going to be great!

She also had some DJs and Photographers to recommend so we're gonna get on that SOON.

We went right home after that and it was still relatively early. We were going to make spaghetti for dinner but we suddenly realized that we had no sauce. Oops. Instead we had Mac and Cheese. We were going to make two boxes, but only had one. What a mess.

We looked on HBO Go for a movie to watch and decided on Gone Girl. I liked the movie, and I enjoyed the whole story but I wasn't too thrilled with the ending. I thought it was weird and didn't really resolve anything. I mean, he knew what happened, he told the police, everyone knew...but he still stayed with her just because she was pregnant. I mean the whole thing was soooo messed up. BUT I can't understand why he didn't share the "clues" with the police. It seems like they make it pretty clear that she orchestrated the whole thing but for whatever reason he didn't want to tell her.

Anyway, we took a walk around the neighborhood at about 8:30. It was a nice night out... kinda windy and it felt like a storm was coming.

So, now we're home, I showered up, and it's time for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
