Hey Journal!

Happy Friday!

Well, we JUST got back home and I was feverishly trying to make it into our driveway by 12:00 but we missed it by about 20 seconds! I'll explain later....

Today was a pretty typical Friday at work. Steve was out, he's off to Bermuda for a week, and everything was pretty calm. At about 11:30, the Fire Marshall came and I had to run around the building and make sure that everything was as it should be! Dan's dad took him around and the fire marshall said everything was good! Usually he comes in June and he said they are really backed up this year. It's crazy because we submitted our money to renew our permit back then and usually they come about a week later.... this time it was a few months! We were really starting to wonder what was going on!

In the afternoon I did some more work on the invoices for the dues and getting stuff ready for that. I can't believe that next Friday they go out in the mail! Crazy!

I spent some of my alone time in the office working on our invitations. We designed the envelopes and I printed the addresses on the front and the back. The outer envelope looks great! The reply envelope looks great, too... but it's so small that the printer has a little trouble with it. It keeps taking it into the machine skewed and then jamming up!

We realized that we need more envelopes. With the large envelopes, I needed to do some tests and then a few New Jersey ones got printed without the 0 in their zip code, so I had to re-do some and we are ONE short... but we should have extras anyway just in case. Then, with the reply envelopes, so many got jammed in the printer that we need more. When I got home, I showed Dan what I had done and he said they looked great. We talked about ordering more, so I went on the website we had originally purchased from.

I was a little bummed out because they charge about $12 for shipping. We paid that the last time but we also got a lot more last time. This time the total for the items was $16 and the shipping was $12! Ugh! I was annoyed about that but I knew I could use a coupon code for $5 off. We also wanted to get little tissue paper squares to put inside, so I went to Google to do a quick search. When I did that, I was SHOCKED that the SAME exact paper, from the same exact company came up on the Staples website! I hadn't seen it the first time because I wasn't specifically searching for this company's name and that's what it's all under on Staples.com!

The prices of the items were exactly the same but you don't have to pay the shipping! I'm so glad I found that. So, I placed the order and it should be arriving in about 3-5 business days...same as the last time. I think I should have them by Wednesday.

Anyway, when we got home from work, Dan wanted to go on a walk right away. He decided not to go to the gym because he didn't think he would have enough time. I didn't really like it because it was too hot and the sun was in my eyes the whole time. I much prefer walks later on once the sun has set but it's still light out!

At 7:30 we met Jimmy at Brownstone for dinner! Dan and I haven't been there in a really long time but our favorite hostess was there and she remembered us! I'm really impressed that she always remembers us and I think I'm even more impressed that she's always there. I really don't think we've ever been there and she hasn't. When we went there tonight I fully expected to see her, and I'm glad we did... but when you really think about it... it's probably much more likely that we WOULDN'T have seen her!

We had dinner... I got the Shepherd's Pie. It was most enjoyable. We had a good time but Dan and Jimmy watched two different baseball games the whole time which left me a little bored.

We were there for a while, and when we left Dan and I went to Huntington to take a walk around. It was a nice night and I wasn't ready to go home at 10:30! While walking past the former Xando, I heard some music that sounded familiar.... I stopped to listen further and see if I could make it out.... sure enough... we had stumbled upon a rendition of Bamboleo! I had to record it and I tweeted it to Chris Stark!

When we got in the car to go home I looked at the clock and saw it was about 20 minutes before midnight.... and... one of the criteria on my car driving report thingy is driving between midnight and 4am. I was determined NOT to have and of that nighttime driving so I hurried to get home as fast as I could! Dan had the gps on the whole way and was telling me my progress. We shaved some minutes off but JUST as we turned onto our street we had ten seconds before midnight, so I pulled over, turned the car off, and let it record that I had stopped. Then I disconnected it from the car and drove the 20 seconds home! I know, that was cheating a little, but I HAD to! It was so close!

What Would You Do? was new tonight, even though the TiVo said it wasn't. We watched that before heading to bed. One of the segments on tonight's was from a winery out east. It was one of the silly ones, and I like those to break up the more serious issue ones! I swear, if I ever saw that woman out and about I would know IMMEDIATELY that it was a WWYD scenario! (I guess that means even if the woman was just shopping I'd assume it was all a set-up!)

So, now it's time for bed! Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
