"wedding prep day"

Hey Journal!

This morning Dan and I got up at about 10:00 which WOULD have been 11:00. That's right, today was the big "fall back!" I really enjoy gaining the extra hour and I feel like I'm more awake and have more energy.... but I REALLY dislike that it gets dark so early...and it only gets worse over the next few weeks!

While we were waking up we watched some of the NYC Marathon which was being broadcast by ESPN, carried on ABC, and anchored by all of the Eyewitness News people. It was weird. Just after they started the race, they were showing all the runners leaving and this one woman just FELL HARD on the pavement. It was kinda crazy! We watched it several times.

Next up we watched last week's Homeland and then we got to work on our wedding preparations. We've had so much stuff lingering around and it was time to get cracking! We had been putting things off because we've been so busy but it was starting to stress me out so I'm really glad we devoted about three hours today to focusing on it.

We spent hours getting our music picked out, preparing the program, and doing some other stuff.

First, we started going through the songs we wanted to recommend to the DJ. We don't want to tell him exactly what we want him to play but at the same time we want him to have a good idea of what we like and REALLY do want him to play some of our favorite songs. It's a delicate balance making sure that he knows what we want but making sure he has the room to do what he does!

Next, we had to pick out the song for when we walk down the aisle! It's kinda scary.... And we didn't want it to be weird. We went through a bunch of songs suggested on some website and they were all terrible. We didn't want anything with words because that would be weird. We finally had a GREAT idea.... We looked up instrumental versions of Disney songs and found a violin player who did a whole bunch of them. Her version of Can You Feel the Love Tonight was just what we were looking for!

After that, I made PDFs of our song lists and also burned CDs of our seating music for before the ceremony, the processional music, and the recessional -- "We Go On!" I think that's the perfect song for us to walk back down to!

I know it doesn't sound like it, but somehow all of that took so long and doing it made me feel like we accomplished a lot of what had been hanging over our heads!

We took a break and watched Heroes and then went to Applebee's for dinner. We wanted to go somewhere that we had a gift card to so we went through our file and figured that would be a good choice. We did the 2 for 20 and I got the sirloin. It was good.

Next, we went to Home Depot to return a paint roller we had purchased. It was the wrong size. Oops.

When we got home we watched Scandal and HTGAWM.

I took a shower around 7:45 and then it was time to watch our Sunday night shows. Keeping up with all of the TV shows we watch is a full time job in itself... it's so hard to do that and work each day AND plan a wedding! YIKES!!

Whenever we have something out of the ordinary going on, like the wedding, I always think to myself how amazingly peaceful life would be if we were spending this time relaxing instead of running around like lunatics trying to get something done!

We watched Once Upon a Time and then Blood and Oil! Now it's time for bed.

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
