"lau's recorded yule log"

Hey Journal!

For the second day of the new year, Dan and I got up around 10:30 and watched some of the show we've been watching lately, The Leftovers. We got a couple of episodes watched and then Dan went out to the gym.

While he was there, I did some stuff around the house and then when Dan got back he showered up and we got ready to go out to eat and go to Price Club.

We had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings in Deer Park. I had a gift certificate that we finished up. I got the Naked Tenders which were really good but I am still really upset that they discontinued my Parmesan Garlic Chicken Flatbread! Ugh! The food took a really long time to come out this time and our waiter was kinda a mess. He was all over the place and every time we would ask him for something he's say he was going to do it but then he'd go off and do about five other things before getting us what we asked for whcih was a little annoying.

Next, we headed up Commack road and stopped at Home Depot. We wanted to get new drawer rollers for a kitchen drawer that's kinda annoying. I wasn't able to buy anything though because they had so many sizes and even though I had looked at the drawer this morning I had no idea which size we needed.

Our main mission at Price Club was to return some oatmeal that Dan bought. He said that all of the Maple & Brown Sugar packets were hard as a rock. We've gotten them before and never had a problem. Luckily the line for returns wasn't too long and we got rid of our rancid oatmeal and then wound up buying so much stuff... We didn't even go in there with any intention of getting anything and we found about $150 worth of stuff we needed!

We got paper towels, frozen pizzas, frozen breakfast sandwiches, fabric softener, tax software, breakfast shakes, and more.

When we got home, we unloaded all of our goods and watched a couple more episodes of our show.

This evening, Lau invited us over to her apartment for a game night and to see her Christmas decorations before it was time to take them down! Dan and I arrived at 7:30 and we were the first to get there. Re came shortly after and then Jen B and Lisa arrived a little closer to 8.

We hung out and enjoyed the WPIX Yule Log which Lau had recorded on Christmas Day! She kept telling us we didn't have to keep watching the Yule Log but I was transfixed. I loved it. I want to get the same log holder thing for our fireplace. It's so amazing.

We played a couple of games... we started with Catchphrase but it was the "decades" edition. It was good, but we all agreed that the regular Catchphrase is better. Next we did a couple of rounds of Guesstures and then we went back to Catchphrase.

Lau made some cookies and we had a fun time playing games, talking, and just hanging out. Dan was in the kitchen with Lau at one point and she mentioned that she was going to throw out this ceramic cow creamer that she had. Dan said he wanted it, so Lau gave it to him! How exciting. It's really cool.

We were there until about 12:45 and then we all departed and headed home. We're just getting ready for bed now...

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
