Hey Journal!

Today was another day in port.... We arrived in Belize around 8:00 this morning and we were woken up when the Captain made an announcement into the cabins to say that, because the pilot boat hadn't cleared us on time, we would be staying an extra hour. I don't know if he was supposed to make that announcement INTO the cabins but directly after that the cruise director made an announcement apologizing for waking people up!

Speaking of the Cruise Director... It's really weird how on some ships they're so prominent and on other ships not so much. This is a middle of the road one, I think... But it's really weird how the entertainment staff doesn't have a real identity on this ship. On the Breeze everyone was front and center and they made such a big deal of everyone. I feel like they did the same on the Liberty. Here, it's like you don't even know who they are!

Anyway, we had no excursion planned and from what we had heard, there wasn't much to do down by the dock. This was also a tender situation so we were anchored out in the water and to go ashore, you had to take a 20-25 minute tender boat.

We weren't sure if we were going to get off or not but we definitely weren't going to do it when everyone else was right at the beginning.

We got out of bed around 9:00 and got ready for the day. We went up to the lido restaurant and had breakfast up there. I had eggs, sausage, ham, and cereal.

The cereal was a second helping and Dan got me a bowl of "corn flakes" while he was up getting something else. When he got back I was a little confused because they didn't look at all like Corn Flakes and they were mushy and tasted weird. I got up to see if there was anything else I would like and I realized that Dan had actually gotten me Special K! Yikes!

Before I continue, let me fill you in on the nicknames of the trip so far. Usually we have a lot more, I think... But this cruise seems to have less people our age on it which makes it a little less likely that we'll name someone. We have some, and some that have changed over the past few days. Here's what we've got. Gene Simmons was this guy with WEIRD black hair who was on our transfer bus from the airport and we've seen him a few times so far. Hole in One is someone who was playing Mini Golf on the first day of the cruise but we've since upgraded his name to Fivel because he looks a little like a mouse. There's "Dinner Guest" who sits at a table nearby us at dinner. There's "Hot Tub" and I have to admit...that's not really a clever name. He was just in the hot tub with us one day. Oh, and then there's "gangster" who, it appears, thinks he's ghetto but he's really not.

There are some more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. It's been a little disappointing in that regard so far. It really doesn't seems like we'll make any new friends on this trip! We were thinking back and we've met people on almost every other cruise we've been on -- so it's a shame there really aren't people around our age. Everyone is either a lot younger or a lot older!

Anyway, after breakfast we walked around the ship and then came back to the room to get our bathing suits and go in the hot tub. We spent a little while in there and when we got out we went to have lunch in the Lido Restaurant.

The line wasn't too bad for the Mongolian Wok so we took advantage of that. They didn't have beef today so I got chicken and pork instead.

After we ate, we went to the Ocean Lounge for trivia which started at 1:30. We were hoping that with so many people off the boat we would have a better chance at winning a ship on a stick! We have all of our ships on display at home in the bookcase and it would be really nice to add the Magic to our collection. Of course, the trivia ringers were there again and we didn't come close. It's terrible. They need to get a life!

We played some shuffleboard and foosball in the Red Frog Pub and then we decided to take the tender to the shore and at least say we got off the boat in Belize!

The tenders left from Deck 0 so we went down there and had to wait about 5 minutes while people were getting back on the ship. Then off we went! It took about 20 minutes to reach the port and when we got there we contemplated just turning around and going right back but we decided to walk around the shops a little first.

We were only off the tender for about 20 minutes or so and then we got back on another one to head back to the boat. It was nice to get off and we also had a great view of the ship as we left so we got some nice pictures!

When we got back on the ship we went to the gym. Dan and I both did some treadmilling. I wanted to watch some of the ship channels on the TV on the treadmill but, surprisingly, you couldn't get those channels on the treadmill TVs. Weird.

After the gym we went in the hot tub again. It was later in the day and the sun was going down so it was much cooler. We brought water to keep hydrated and we wound up staying in until about 6:00 or so. It got dark while we were in there and we were in for about an hour and a half!

Next, we returned to the room and showered up for dinner. We took our time getting ready and then had some drinks before we left. I made a cranberry vodka for myself and I think I really like this sparkling cranberry juice I have.... It didn't even taste like there was any alcohol in it at all!

We left the room for dinner at 7:45 and we sat in the piano bar and people watched while we waited. There were these two kids sitting there and they were talking and all of a sudden this girl walks up and says, "I know this is weird but my friend wants to know if you want to come watch a movie with us upstairs." He said, "What movie?" And she says, "Whatever they're showing..." And then he gets up and off the go! I had no idea it was so easy... You just have to walk up and propose something and then roll with it!

So, dinner was at 8:15 and we got there right on time. Our dinner ladies decided not to show up tonight! We were a little surprised that they didn't come but at the same time it was kinda nice that we had some time to ourselves. Sometimes it's a little much having to make conversation over dinner! I wonder where they went!?

There were no appetizers that I liked for dinner tonight but I got the Southern Fried Chicken as my entree. The waiter joked that it was KFC!

That did a little show tonight during dinner - a little dance.

We ate pretty quickly and by about 9:45 we were out. We were going to get a drink and sit and people watch but then we stumbled upon this magic show going on in the Spotlight Lounge at the back of the ship. It was pretty entertaining and the guy doing it was funny. He seemed like a Michael Carbonaro type. He was good!

We watched that and then headed to the theater for tonight's show. We were a little late for it but we only stayed for about 5 minutes because it wasn't that interesting.

We walked around the ship some more and then eventually made our way back here to the room! Bed time now... And we'll be in Isla Roatan in the morning! We have no plans there again but we think we may get off the boat and take this chair lift to a nice beach. I guess we'll play it by ear and see how it goes!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
