"almost 60 degrees"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 9:10 when our alarm went off and I was feeling like I would have been much happier with about an hour more of sleep! Kristen was supposed to come at 9:30 to pick us up for breakfast so we had to hurry to get ready.

We were ready at JUST about 9:30 but got a text from Kristen saying that she was running a little late. That worked out okay for us so we had a little extra time.

Kristen arrived at 9:45 and we headed off to Relish, the homeland, for breakfast. We hadn't seen Kristen in a while and we had a lot of stories to tell her! We had to tell her about Dan's work trip, our vacation, the car story, and more! She also had many stories to share about her Valentine's Day plans, some new work developments, and the untimely death of her beloved guinea pig.

When we left the house I was wearing my heavier winter jacket and I was surprised that it was just a few degrees below 60! It was really an amazing day to be outside. After breakfast we went to Target. As soon as we walked in, they had one of those sample stations set up and they were promoting some fabric softener. It was strange because they had paper cups out on the table with the fabric softener in them! WHY would you do that? I mean, I could understand if they had little take-home packets of samples but nobody would take a sample of laundry detergent home in a paper cup! Anyway, Dan walked over and picked it up and PRETENDED to start to drink it! The girl at the counter FREAKED out! She was like "NO DON'T DRINK THAT!" It was amazing. I think she laughed when she realized what was going on but I felt bad for her -- she really got scared there!

There were some good finds at Target today -- specifically two stuffed animals. Kristen got a stuffed cupcake and I got a bear. They were $1.48 each! No idea why they were so cheap but it was great!

After Target we went to Hoyt Farm to be outside some more. We went to visit the animals. I didn't realize so many people came there with carrots and stuff. There were lots of families with food for the animals. We picked up some of what fell and Dan fed carrots and celery to them. There was one that was really aggressive and bullyish. We didn't like him so much so we made sure to feed the others.

We checked out the Maple Sugaring procedures that were taking place and we're planning to attend the annual maple sugaring demonstration in a few weeks!

After heading back to the car, we went to the bluff to continue on our adventures. We walked around by the water for a bit. It was a little chilly down there but not too bad. As I mentioned, I had my heavier jacket on so it was all good. There were a lot of people out and about today!

In other news, this morning, I got a call regarding the car. They man from the dealership said that although they do not allow this -- they would make a special exception. They would allow Steve to sign his papers and mail them via FedEx. No idea WHY this is such a big deal, but they usually make the person appear in person. Whatever. So, I had to get Steve's California address and as soon as they had it at the dealership they sent a FedEx package out to him. Now it's looking like he will be getting it back on Wednesday and I should be able to pick the car up on Wednesday or Thursday! Such craziness!!

Anyway, we got home around 2:30 and decided to have a relaxing afternoon. We watched some shows -- finished the WWYD episode we started last night and then watched this week's episode of The Flash! We're officially all caught up now. Phew!

For dinner we decided to out to Ruby Tuesday. I wasn't really in the mood for it tonight but we wanted to go somewhere and we have TWO of those $15 off coupons. We have to use them by March 1st so we figured it made the most sense. I wasn't really in the mood for my usual Petite Sirloin so I went with the Parmesan Chicken Pasta. It's unreal how many more calories that has than the steak. It's almost triple!

When we were done we went to ShopRite but didn't get anything. We walked around and on the way out Dan got a scratch-off lotto ticket. We won $40 which was a nice surprise! Wahoo. We knew he had won on one of the things and I totally expected to see $2 when he scratched off the prize!

We came home after that and watched the first two episodes of The Walking Dead. Linda has been telling us to watch this show FOREVER and this week Chris Moyles was really going on and on about it and we finally caught up on all of our other shows so we decided to go for it.

It was good -- I was a little annoyed at the first episode because after the guy wakes up in the hospital and then meets that other guy.... WHY WOULD HE NOT ASK WHAT HAPPENED!? Like, he never asks for a full explanation of how this started, what went on, and why? He just kinda observes bits and pieces and doesn't really question anything.

Now it's time for bed. Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
