"linda's bachelorette party"

Hey Journal!

Dan and I are currently on the road after Linda's Bachelorette Party!! I figured I would use this time to write about the exciting events of yesterday!

We wanted to sleep late yesterday so we wouldn't have any staying up late at the casino! I woke up on my own around 9:30 and Dan was still sound asleep. I did a bunch of random stuff around the house and tried to get myself packed for the trip.

I woke Dan up around 10:40 because I figured it was time to get cracking!

We finished getting ready and then I loaded up the car. We took the Prius and it was Dan's first time officially driving it!

We had to make a stop before hitting the road because we wanted to bring an inflatable penis for Linda! Obviously! So, we stopped at the Pleasure Palace but, sadly, they did not have what we was looking for! They had lots of bachelorette stuff but not that!

For breakfast we went across the street to McDonald's and I got the hotcakes!

We left the house at 11:15 and we were on the expressway by about 12:00. We made excellent time and had no traffic at all.

We made another stop at an "adult" store in Connecticut, right off the road, and they too did not have what we wanted. The strange guy working there suggested that we try a Spencer's in the nearby mall so we went over there.

They DID have exactly what we wanted! It was perfect. Of course, I don't like Spencer's and I haven't bought anything there since that time we went with Re and the girl there was super nasty!

Anyway, I had to make an exception today.

Next we went to Target, also in the mall, to get water for tonight. The we went across the street to Stop and Shop to get some alcohol for pregaming at the hotel!

All at this stuff was at the same exit which was very convenient and before getting back on the highway we stopped at Chipotle for lunch.

We were originally set to arrive at the hotel at 3:15 but we got a little delayed because of all of our stops. We wound up pulling in at about 4:45 and Linda, Christine, and Tracy arrived at 5!

We got all of our stuff into the room and then took a minute to get settled in before heading down to check out the pool. We didn't go in or anything- just wanted to see where it was.

While we were down there Linda walked in through the door in the basement.

The hotel was set up strangely because the lobby was on the first floor but many people came in through the basement level door and there was no indication of how to get to the lobby! A guy and girl asked us if we knew where it was so we directed them there!

Our room was on the first floor which I generally don't like but it wasn't bad. The other two rooms for our group were on the second floor!

We headed up there and met up with Kim and Barbara who were already in their room!

We had some drinks and everyone got changed into their outfits for the night.

Kim brought a bunch of items for the party and they were really cool! There were these cool rubber bracelets that said "Team Bride" and my personal favorites, these little sticks with bow ties, glasses, and other fun things! I had the bow tie one with me all night!

Dan and I brought up the inflatable penis and we all hung out until it was time for the shuttle to the hotel.

When we heard that the hotel had a free shuttle we assumed that it was like any normal shuttle and you could just get on the next one that runs. No- you had to reserve the one you wanted!

So, we got the 6:55. They didn't have any good availability for the way back so we planned to get an Uber.

Our driver was this older man who introduced himself as Fonzie but we think his name might have been Franz!

It was a fun ride because we were all a little tipsy and Fonzie was a funny guy. We also had four other randoms in our van but they were fun and engaged with us!

We were in the back seat- Kim, me, Dan, and Barbara.

When we arrived we walked around the casino and found Diane who was staying there and had arrived Friday morning.

We all got players cards and then we hit some slots! I made a beeline for the Willy Wonka machine which is my all-time favorite! We hit two Oompa Loompa bonuses and then I got the chocolate river boat ride! Amazing! Sadly I didn't win much and left down!

Dan and I spotted the Walking Dead slot machine and got really excited. Sadly it was a letdown-- it was kinda weird and not fun at all. We gave up on it quickly.

At 8:15 we all headed to Margaritaville for our 8:15 priority seating. What a scam that was- we checked in and they told us it would be about 45 minutes. We went upstairs and hung out by the bar while we waited and about an hour and a half later they still hasn't called us!

Finally, our moment came and we went down. Our table was right near where we had been waiting so they took us in a big circle!

Dinner was good- I got the buttermilk fried chicken and j enjoyed it. I got a Zombie to drink with dinner but it wasn't very good. It was not anything like lotus east! I drank it all, of course, and then we each got a free frozen margarita!

Our driver, Fonzie, gave us all a free drink coupon!

After dinner we all went to do a little dancing at this club-like area which is right near the casino. It was really random and I really don't do clubs of dancing but it was a fun place to hang out for a bit. They had these wild dancer girls on either side of the DJ and they had such weird moves!

I tried to copy them. I think it worked well for me! lol

After that we walked around and did more gambling. Linda played some slots and we watched, they Dan and I played some Jetsons and Batman games. We wound up down by about $150 for the day and Linda, who was up at one point by about $77 left down about $20.

The big winner of the night was Kim, Queen of the Blackjack table, who left up $500!

We decided to head back to the hotel around 1:30 and we needed an Uber! Christine and I were going to call them since we had Uber accounts but then I got a stroke of genius! I referred Linda to the app and also Tracy! They each got a free ride (up to $15) and our trips were about $13! Niiiiiice!

So, we called the Uber and our driver was this Asian guy who looked like Glenn from Walking Dead and he was nuts! He parked somewhere he wasn't supposed to be and the security guy was yelling at him so he was hanging out the window yelling at him, "How did you get a job here!!!" It was so weird!

We got back to the hotel around 1:45 and everyone just got ready for bed! Dan and I got to sleep around 2:30 and I think I got a pretty good night's sleep!

So, that was the big Bachelorette Party evening in a nutshell! I'll be back later with more on the morning after and the trip home!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight!
